Identity Access Management at AGP

Enhancing User Access Management with AGP
Requesting, approving, and setting up user access on the AGP network was a true nightmare at AGP. The process was frustrating at every level and was managed on paper and in email - no detailed access records existed.
The Complex Landscape of User Access
AG Processing, like many organizations, faces the complexity of managing user access to a variety of applications, including both in-house developed systems and enterprise solutions like Oracle and OnBase. The company's rapid growth over 40 years has resulted in a myriad of applications, making the task of managing user identity and access increasingly challenging.

The Problem: Slow Setup and Inefficiencies
One of the major problems AG Processing identified was the slow setup of user access. Users would often send their setup information right before or even on the day they started, leading to delays and a frustrating onboarding experience. This prompted the need for a more proactive approach to streamline access setup and improve the experience for both users and administrators.
Introducing the Solution: Role-Based Templates and WorkView
AG Processing embarked on a solution development journey in partnership with Databank, leveraging Work View to address their access management challenges. A role-based template was introduced to provide a standardized starting point for different roles within the organization. This template offered a clear structure for granting access to various applications, such as Oracle, OnBase, and more.
Streamlined Workflow and Efficient Approval Process
With the new solution, AG Processing introduced a streamlined workflow that allowed different components of access setup to occur simultaneously. Instead of a sequential process, where approvals were required before setup, each access point could now proceed independently, expediting the overall setup process.
Real-Time Tracking and Auditing
One of the key advantages of the new system is the ability to track actions in real-time. The system maintains a detailed history of who approved what, when setups were completed, and what access rights were granted. This not only helps ensure accountability but also streamlines audit processes, both internally and externally.
Enhanced User Experience and Future Prospects
The new system not only benefits the administrative side of access management but also greatly improves the user experience. Users now have a clear overview of their access rights and can even expand or modify their access as needed, within the defined role-based template.
AG Processing also plans to extend the system to manage vendor access, ensuring a holistic approach to access management across all user types.

A Proactive Approach to Access Management
AG Processing's journey highlights the importance of taking a proactive approach to user access management. By leveraging role-based templates, streamlining workflows, and implementing real-time tracking, they have successfully addressed their challenges and improved the overall experience for both users and administrators.
As organizations continue to grow and adopt a multitude of applications, AG Processing offers valuable insights into how to effectively manage user access in a dynamic and complex environment.
